Those DREADED Credit Scores...

Credit Scores.... no one likes those, do they?

Do you know your credit score? Probably not, right?

Plus it is so hard to find a site that is truly free to check your scores without secretly getting charged monthly fees. Check out the article below - it contains several sites you can use to get a truly FREE credit report with no strings attached! Some of the sites include Credit.com (which will give you a report from Experian (one of 3 major credit bureaus)), another is Mint.com (gives an Equifax report). The well known CreditKarma.com currently offers a report from TransUnion, and will soon offer a second report from Equifax so you can compare reports side by side.

Are you considering buying a home or just want to raise your credit score?
Here's a few tips:
1. Check your credit report and make sure there aren't any errors. Your credit might be taking a hit from someone else with the same name!
2. Don't charge your credit card to the maximum limit, pay down as much of that debt as you can, try to pay the full monthly balance if possible, and don't just transfer the debt to another card.
3. If you are shopping around and considering buying a home, don't open up any new lines of credit right now or buy anything on credit before you can approved for a loan. This will hurt your credit score and could affect your ability to get approved for the loan.
4. If you are shopping around for good mortgage rates with a lender, do all of your shopping at one time. If you have a bunch of credit applications all at one time, it can hurt your score, but if you have multiple inquiries that are from the same type of lender all within a short period of time, they will all be counted as one inquiry and will not hurt your credit.

Happy home shopping! Let us know how we can help!

- To be successful, the first thing to do is fall in love with your work.
